What began as a love for caring animals and building the community enabled us to build the “Best Care” vision. With decades of combined experience in the veterinary industry, Pamu and Damitha steered their career and business with a singular, deeply personal mission: to create a veterinary practice where clinical excellence meets the warmth of a family home. Dr. Pamu
Veterinarian & Co-Director
Dr. Pamu (BVSc, PhD) co-leads Best Care Vets with a passion for compassionate, family-centred care. With over 15 years of veterinary and leadership experience, she brings expertise in small animal medicine, surgery, and preventive care. She is committed to combining clinical excellence with a warm, welcoming practice for pets and their families.
Dr. Damitha
Veterinarian & Co-Director
Dr. Damitha (BVSc) co-leads Best Care Vets with over 10 years of small animal experience across Sri Lanka and Australia. He is recognised for his clinical proficiency in managing complex medical and surgical cases, always combining skill with compassion. He is committed to supporting pet owners and delivering high-quality care in a warm, welcoming environment.
Dr. Sandu
Veterinary Surgeon
Dr. Sandu is a compassionate veterinary surgeon providing evidence-based care for companion animals. She brings experience from small animal practice in Sri Lanka and Australia, and has completed the AVBC Preliminary Examination. She has special interests in preventive medicine, internal medicine, and helping pet owners make informed health decisions.

Practice Manager
Sam is our Practice Manager and Veterinary Nurse with over 35 years of experience in small animal care. With more than 18 years at Pound Road Veterinary Clinic, she leads the team with warmth, organisation, and a deep commitment to every pet's wellbeing. She is passionate about making every visit gentle, safe, and comfortable for pets and their families.
Jessica B
Head Vet Nurse
Jessica is our Head Veterinary Nurse and has been caring for animals in clinical practice since December 2021. She is a friendly, compassionate nurse who thrives on supporting pets and their owners through every stage of treatment. She is known for her positive energy, approachability, and dedication to making a real difference in the clinic.
Jessica M
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Jessica is a Trainee Veterinary Nurse with over 16 years of hands-on experience in small animal care and is currently studying Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing. She is passionate about surgical nursing, inpatient care, and helping anxious patients feel calm and supported. She brings warmth, dedication, and a genuine love for animals to every shift at Best Care Vets.
